Summer along the Madawaska
Lens: DA*60-25 with 1.4 TC Camera: K-3 Photo Location: Whitney, Ontario, Canada ISO: 400

Cross posted in the 300mm plus club and K-3 images.

Summer is in full swing.... I took the K-3 and DA* 60-250 with the 1.4 TC on it along the rail bed today to record the action

Hummingbird Moth


Small Dragon Fly


Butterfly


Monarch Butterfly


Wasp


A colony of Herring Gulls


American Redstart


American Redstart with a meal for the kids.

It's been so wet, very thing is doing well. Happy plants, happy bugs, happy everybody. Now that we are finally getting some rain free days, really happy everybody.

Nice series! Interestingly, the seagulls look a bit like ghosts thanks to the lens aberrations. I really like it!

I love the seagulls too and wonder if their group means there are bear in the area. That dragonfly is stunning too.

ON shot day like this on river you can almost be certain you're seeing atmospheric effects.

There are bears in the area, (and woves, foxes, a variety of measles as well as eagles and big hawks and owls.

I just got back from a canoe trip. How do you tell the difference between mosquito and black fly bite spots and measles spots?

Spilomyia fly of some sort
Jealous of the Redstart photo, patience is rewarded.
