Classic Studebaker and a Touch of Irony
Lens: smc FA 50mm 1.4 Camera: K-50 Photo Location: Belfast, Maine ISO: 200 Shutter Speed: 1/90s Aperture: F11
Posted By: SSGGeezer, 07-22-2017, 06:19 PM

Saw a beautifully restored Studebaker Coupe down at the local hot dog stand in Belfast, Maine this morning. Had to take some shots since it was in pristine condition. See if you get the irony in the shot of the rear quarter of the car. Normally the cool old classic cars and Rat rods don't show up here till the evening on Saturdays. (After the business is closed.)

I love the old Studeys, and these are great shots - the first one would be perfect as the cover of a book!

Great pics - I've seen a few old Studebakers over over the years, but not restored to this level. And yeah . . . . . . . . . I get the irony.

Is that a '51 Champion?
Anybody know if the curly S on the hubcaps was original?

I remember riding in a big Stude-Packard when very young in Australia.
It had a vertical strip speedometer and I thought that was marvellous.

Thanks for all the comments. My wife was making fun of me for how many pictures I took of it. Glad some turned out well considering how bright it was out and that I don't have a hood for my FA 50mm yet.
The car looked original inside but clean and was also very nice. I need to go down tho Wasses on a Saturday evening for the cruise in that happens.
