We have this plant that blooms once in the summer and this is a photo of the bloom. If someone knows the plant from this bloom please let me know the name of the plant.

Can't help you with the name unfortunately, but that's a very nice capture!

Does it only bloom once? I have a similar looking plant, but it blooms all the time...

My plant only blooms once a year and it likes direct sunlight.

Hmm.. It looks like a very distant relative of Plumeria.

Is it native to your area? (And what area is that?)

Sara, thanks for the link and after looking and reading about the plant I am sure that you have identified our plant. photoptimist, we live in Kentucky so it is not a native plant. We have it in a pot and move it back inside during cold weather. The plant just makes it through winter and seems to take most of the summer before getting healthy and blooming. It is a strange looking plant but has really nice blooms. Thanks to everyone for your interest and help.
