EAA Air Show
Lens: 60-250 Camera: K-5 Photo Location: Oskosh, WI
Posted By: markvc, 07-29-2017, 03:15 PM

We went to see the Blue Angels at the EAA Air Show in Oskosh WI. Here are a few of my better images - overall I was pleased with how the 60-250 performed. The jets move by so fast it was hard for me to track them, and if you really crop in the images get fuzzy, but at full size they look acceptably sharp. Most of these have been cropped just a bit to remove the excess sky.
In addition to the Blue Angels, I'm including one of a B-29, and one of the other air show teams.

Did you get a shot of the B-29's Fifi and Doc in formation? I read somewhere it was going to be the first time in like 40 years two B-29's would be flying together. One year I will make it out there for the show.

Always love this type of pics. The first fifteen years of my working life, was in the RAAF ( Royal Australian Air Force ), as an aircraft tech.

You did a great job with capturing the Blue Angels and the other aircraft. Even when you know where they are going to be, it is hard to catch them.
You did very well and the shots are very nice. Wish I was there. Had plans about ten years ago but got the flu while driving up there with my kids. Could not do the last 400 miles. Someday I will make it out there.

Thanks for the nice comments. I think the B-29 I got was Doc - both were to fly together but I was in the museum for the earlier part of the air show so did not see that or the B-25 Doolittle Raid re-enactment. Have not mastered being in 2 places at once. For those who like aircraft, the EAA should be on your bucket list - it was amazing.

Love the B29 shot! The only US bombers from that era that I've seen flying were the B17 and B25 - at Duxford in the UK.
