Little House on the Prairie
Lens: Pentax-DA 18-135mm Camera: K-50 ISO: 200 Shutter Speed: 1/800s Aperture: F8

On a day trip to Jordan Valley, Oregon this past year, I came across this interesting old house on the open prairie. I'm thinking of going back this coming winter and re-shooting it.

Interesting in many ways. It looks very small and the door must be at the back (or the other side). The full winter version should be worth going back for. My only suggestion would be to straighten the perspective on the left, if that is possible in PP. I guess that is the result of shooting wide.

This shot posed several problems.... one being the gentle slope of the lay of the land. The other is the actual leaning of the side of the building. It had nothing to do with shooting wide, but the deterioration of the building over time. Actually, this was once a school house back in the late 1800's, early 1900's. The area has many interesting sights, especially if you take the road out of the little town of Jordan Valley that heads east.

My client had me reverse the image, placing the building on the right hand side of the tree and convert it to sepia tone prior to printing it to 20" x 12".

What a feeling of isolation. Terrific photo.

I would never have guessed. Because the chimney was leaning too I assumed it was all the lens.

Love it. That old tree is beautiful. I can see where this area could be revisited many times with something new to photograph each time.

Perfect caption for this photo. I like the composition!
