The back lighting really caught my eye.

Beautiful colors, nicely complemented by the sharpness of the subject.

Thanks, Adam. As you've probably noticed, a good deal of the photos I've been posting have been taken with my Sigma 70-300mm APO DG lens. I absolutely LOVE it's long, minimum focus distance of 37" and it's 1:2 macro ratio. My particular copy has produced some very sharp images for me. I don't know it that's a common trait with all copies of this lens, but mine is superb in that respect. For any of our members with bad backs that prevent them from getting down close to the ground for macro shots, this lens.... IMHO.... is about as good as it gets! I highly recommend it.... Especially for it's price point.

I wonder how it would fare on the K-1. Since Pentax offers nothing like it currently, might be an interesting lens to play with!

I would be interested to hear from anyone with a K-1 that gave it a try. From what I've been told, the APO version is noticeably sharper than the non-APO.
