Hey, my first flower macro! (Taken with film)
Posted By: tranq78, 08-19-2008, 05:13 PM

I take macro photos but I have never taken a true macro of a flower before. Just didn't bother, I guess. Anyway so here's my first flower macro. Taken using cheap drug store brand ISO400 film, scanned at time of development. No post processing, cropping, or sharpening.

The flower itself is quite small - less than 1/2 an inch (< 1cm). The magnification is 2:1 so it is a really macroey picture.

Other technical details: 1/3 second at F4. Because the tiny flowers were at the end of a long stalk there was ever so slight movement so I didn't dare use a smaller aperture.

Comments & criticisms always welcome.

I like it! you'd never know the flower was that small. I think the crop and DOF are perfect...
