Me too. Gray day, dull colours, plain pizza and just a touch of colour in the traffic lights. If that car wasn't there I don't think this would work nearly as well. Thanks for posting.

The way you shot the box it looks very "staged". If you shot it from a different angle showing the box resting on the trash bag it would fit the dark, gloomy theme more...

I think both ideas work, they would just convey different meanings.

I like this shot. I think it's because someone actually took the time to look a it and shot it, rather than just walk by and look for a building, tree, flower, insect to photograph.

The cars headlights definitely make the shot.
