Looks like you have been able to delve into the mysterious world of Cryptozoology in your photography.

If I'm not mistaken ...and I often am ....I would say that's the front leg of a very rare creature...the Centaur.

The colour patterns would indicate that the equine part is definitely Zebra-esque.

I just can't figure out the deck shoe though.

Les, I think you could be right. According to Google, Centaurs roamed the ancient world bare hoofed - that is, until the Romans showed up and starting crossing the Mediterranean to conquer new places. In order to join in the fun, Centaurs realized they needed footwear that would allow them to move around a heaving deck without stumbling. Sperrys were their choice, which made the brand famous. Many centuries later, Centaurs decided that seafaring was not their thing, and they stayed ashore. However, they developed a love for sports cars to drive in southern Europe and found that Sperrys made managing a clutch much easier than stabbing a hard, slick and roundish hoof at the pedal. Sadly for Sperry's bottom line, the advent of dual-clutch transmissions eliminated the need for a foot-controlled clutch and - of course - the need for a shoe, so Centaurs now frolic happily bare hoofed once again.
