Hybrid Peregrine Falcon
Posted By: Kerrowdown, 08-12-2017, 10:57 AM

Was lucky enough to attend as a guest a falconry centre in which Lady Kerrowdown was experiencing a wee bit of falconry first hand.

This bird had just won its reward after catching the lure.

Still hot dating with my “Gorgeous Lady” (Pentax-A* 200mm F2.8 ED) on a dreich dull day in Perthshire (the Scottish one).

Really impressive detail! Can't go wrong with a razor-sharp eye

As others have said, excellent detail and I would add...the subject falcon 'pops' in this picture, nicely isolated from the background .

You mentioned that this is a hybrid falcon...what other raptor(s) are in the mix ?

I took the term to be referring the very selective captive breeding programme, of which this fine bird is one of the results.

Very nice photograph... but why would there be such a thing as a a hybrid Peregrine falcon?

In someone's estimation the original version wasn't good enough?

They are being especially breed for racing purposes in the Middle East.
