You'll want one...
Posted By: slugtaco, 02-19-2007, 10:49 PM

Here is a shot I did for a coffee shop.

This shot consisted of three different studio lights, and a slight hint of ambient from dragging the shutter, which gave me the warm orange tinge.

Hope you like.

Shot with the lovely K10 D

Looks great! What do you mean by "dragging the shutter"?

I agree with GavinIvey, and also wonder what you mean by dragging the shutter

The whole shot is metered to the studio lights. Then by dragging the shutter(very slow shutter shutter speed) it allows some of the ambient light to capture in the image, giving it the slight orange cast.

It is the same thing as slow or rear curtain sync.

Thanks for your comments

No fair!

I'm at work and our coffee looks NOTHING like that! I want one!
Great shot. Looks delicious.
Do you do a lot of food work? Ever work with a food stylist? Reason I ask is one of my good friends from cheffie school became a food stylist, he does all right for himself making food look beautiful.

A very inviting photo. An excellent example of making the commonplace uncommon. Great job!
