Railroad cut

Just trying out my new K-3ii over the weekend. This was the site of the Pinkerton tunnel on the CSXT line in Pa. The tunnel was removed to accommodate double stack cars. I'm sure i'll go back and wait for the train next time.

Thanks. I think it looks a little over sharpened after down sizing it?

That would be a great spot for a night shot and long exposure, trains under the stars.

removing the tunnel must have been quite an engineering feat. It looks wide enough that it might have been a dual track line at one time as well.

There is a tunnel about 100 feet to the right of this cut which is now the GAP trail and was the Western Maryland railroad until it was merged into the B&O. The Western Maryland was built to accommodate two rail lines but the second rails were installed, perhaps the B&O had the same idea? Would be an awesome spot for some train photos.
