WOW! Lots of detail on that cactus, and then the background...whoa what an backdrop!

Now that is different.....I like the compo and understand why you used the 1.8 pretty much wide open....the extremes of focal contrast gives me the feeling I am looking at a distant painted backdrop. Still it bothers my eyes almost as if I had on my reading glasses and looked up.

Great shot, hog rider. Sucks you in like a beautuful big sponge.
"Sharp" foreground (pardon the pun) and rich bokeh reminds me of shots I've taken with my Sigma 50mm 2.8 ex macro. Such interesting color! Freddy

Thanks all for the comments and critique. I admit the photo is a little bit "experimental" but lately I am totally into this type of stuff. Probably hanging out too much at deviantArt.com
