NYC from Brooklyn

You've probably seen this shot a million times, in fact I think I posted a night shot under my old account. The fun thing about this is under different lighting and processing, they all are remarkably different. I took this with the k-50 and kit lens. I can't wait to get out there and use the K-3II and a prime.

I like it. Its not a perspective you see very often. At least not out here in California.

Thank you Josh, I was born and raised in California and moved to NY 15 years ago. I would love to get back there someday and get some good sunrises and sunsets.

This shot is proof that you don't need expensive gear!

K-50 w/ kit lens!?

Well done; you should be proud of your skills!

I particularly like how this photo feels to me; like a mash of rural and urban...
The top half reminds me of the city-environment I grew up in, the bottom half reminds me of the waterways and chicken farms that are just around the corner from where I live today.

Thanks, Since then I've moved up to the k-3ii, but I kept the little k-50 and the kit lenses too. It's always nice to have a back up

This is really a good photo. I agree with you that it is interesting to see a scene taken at different times of day, season, etc. It would be neat to go out in the winter on a clear day after a snow and take it.

!excellent foreground choice, that makes it special among many similar cityscape shots. long expo also adds much to the ambience.
and yes, you're totally right about light conditions, i also like to shoot favorite places at different times of day. you can't take the same picture of the same place twice anyway

I do see this photo a lot, but usually at night. Nice to see it in broad daylight. Good job!

Wow. Spectacular shot. You say it is well known but this is the first time I have seen it and ....wow! I love your colour balance. Beautifully exposed and nice and sharp. Great picture
