Mushroom season
Lens: D FA 100 macro Camera: K-1 Photo Location: My back yard ISO: 100
Posted By: normhead, 08-31-2017, 12:02 PM

I received a used 100 macro in the mail today, bought from a forum member.

So I took it out for a test run....
K-1, DFA 100 macro
100 ISO, Some 22, some 16, a few 8.

There are so many mushrooms this year, I can be selective, and look of colour and colour contrast. Ordinary mushrooms need not apply.

What a wonderful series, Norm... The last two are particularly beautiful, both the mushrooms themselves and the images.

I confess, I'm a little surprised you didn't already own this lens... It's a wonderful bit of glass, and not just for macro work. Glad you have one now!

My wife is a little surprised I have it now.....
We own the FA 50 macro. the Sigma 70 macro, the Tamron 90 macro.

In the past year the Tamron was dropped in a lake, the FA 50 macro was half full of water after one of my packs got water in the bottom on a canoe trip. And this lens is tiny. I've always preferred longer focal length macros, it was only a matter of time, and it's time had come.

I love the first two. That snail is such a great addition to the schroom. Nice that Tess is allowing you to continue your LBA. Hope you take better care of this one though.

Tess dropped the Tammy in the lake... I really like the snails eyes, but in general I hate any kind of slug.

Usually I just go for the picture I want. What happens to my gear is just what happens to my gear.
