Nice!
For some reason this image made me check you tube for renditions of "wild mountain thyme" and listened to a couple. I can only apologise if that is not heather.
Back in the early 70's I especially liked the version by the Strawbs, "will you go".

I think it was the same type of heather throughout, but just at different stages in the blooming cycle.

Thank you for your kind words, I think the compression achieved by my “Sweetheart” (Pentax-A* 85mm F1.4) helped.

Aye but they're not so young these days, a bit like myself except... they've worn better.

I think I would have preferred less compression - wider lens with you standing closer - that's just my preference for landscape like this ... it makes me feel that I am more part of the scene and less an observer

Working on a shoot of something total different (a product shoot with clients in attendance) and this was actually behind me, so I admit to a quick turn and grab.
