Clackers. I know you are an experienced photographer so is it my screen or the pictures are so sharp.
In the first one the eyes seem off the focus place. Second is not sharp enough to my liking.
Other than that the lighting and style is great.

That's quite a standard you've got going, Culture!

Crop below ... you can work out how many pixels we're looking at out of the 36Mp.

As for 'experienced', I've been shooting for five years ... this is at a workshop a few months back where I was learning.

The cropped image looks sharper than the original. Is that even possible?

Edit:
Something funky is going on here. So I copied this page to IE. I normally use Chrome.
The image is very sharp. I mean the original one. What is going on here?

I believe Chrome is resizing the image when it displays it to you. Google is perfect you know

what type of flash did you use on the top photo the canon which model canon was it? Did you also use a street light for lighting from above as well?

Not my gear, Kombivan, but it was a current Canon flash, the owner uses it with his 5D Mk III.

It's not on the camera, BTW.

It's camera left on a stand shooting down through a softbox angled at Madelyn's eyes.

As always, the shadows are the clues about the setup.

I've been accused (and possibly rightfully so!) of putting far too much emphasis on sharpness. Both of these images are tack-sharp as presented on MY monitor, especially #2! She's a very pretty young woman. I'd like to see more images of her.

Really nice playful pose in the first one. Exposure on the second one is spot on.

Wonderful series sir. They are all beautiful, however I am particularly attracted to the second one, because she reminds me of a young Ann-Margret. Awesome.

Here are a couple more, @Dewman and @Tonytee.

Madelyn's very smart (has a Ph.D in immunology), and is strongly artistic (does life modelling too, but remained thoroughly clothed for this shoot).

Just at reflection from the water on the boards at the front of the pic, Kombivan.

I guess I could remove it in Lightroom but it doesn't trouble me.
