A very nice capture of this location...looks like a break in the clouds lit your foreground just right...lots of detail there...and the dark skies add drama to the rear...well done Ginos.
The success is in the beautiful skies of Scotland and, at that moment, all the clouds pointed to the castle.

Thanks, I'm glad you like it!

This is just down the road from me... I always find it truly interesting to see other folks shots of this familiar place, especially when they're as good as this one.

However as with many such images, the reasons for building them is difficult to understand these days.
To keep the bad guys oot, of which there were many... most with strange Southern accents.

And this coming from a man who lives near Algonquin Park in Canada.

A stunning image! If one wanted to make their lair difficult to access, I can't think of a better place to hunker down that the castle in the photo. It would be very difficult to assault with the only access being the causeway. Very easily defended, or it would appear so. However, according to the one post, the English figured out a way!

Lovely photograph, truly awesome. I have never visited Scotland, but I do understand it is a very beautiful land. My sister and brother-in-law vacationed there one summer several years ago. Would you believe they loved it so much the following summer they returned to the exact location for a month.

Thanks for a wonderful image.

Apart from defensive position implications, this is a lovely scene.

Amazing what can happen when the task is given to a sufficiently determined commander with a sufficient number of troops {lookup U.S. Grant}.
