The plumage as you have already stated is stunning. Like aerodynamic coat of high caliber polymer. So silky smooth.

The words from My Old Kentucky Home sprang instantly to mind:

Sister Sue is short and stout, she didn't grow up she grew out
Mama says she's plain, but she's just being kind
Papa thinks she's pretty, but he's almost blind
Don't let her out much 'cept at night, but I don't care 'cause I'm alright

Man....what an ugly bird. Were she human she'd be what is crudely referred to as a "butterface".

Nice shot Marc. Those feathers have a nice texture to them and really pop.

I used to take care of a black vulture at our local zoo and let me tell you, their looks just don't compare to their smell. Ugh.
