Just a tip (IMHO) when post processing try increasing your contrast and dropping back the brightness which will bring out the true Red colour and stop colour blow-outs. By doing this it will also create a sharper image.

Thanks for the tip eaglem...I don't normally photograph flowers so any advise is appreciated.

A very nice effort. What I do in this case is to dial back on the saturation level until it seems comfortable to me. Also, what helps a lot is to stop down perhaps 1/2 stop and see what happens. For me, it works very well. I would rather have an image a little underexposed as opposed to one where the reds are through the roof.
