My big fat Greek wedding car...
Lens: SMC Pentax 01 Standard Prime 8.5mm f/1.9 Camera: Pentax Q7 Photo Location: Agios Nikolaos, Crete ISO: 100 Shutter Speed: 1/160s Aperture: F4
Posted By: BigMackCam, 09-30-2017, 01:40 PM

A few days ago, whilst on vacation in Crete, I spotted this lovely old Jaguar whisking the bride and (I think) her father to the wedding, via the streets of Agios Nikolaos.

A sign of the times: The bride is busy on her smartphone, no doubt texting or - more probably - on Twitter or Facebook

Taken with the Q7 + 01 prime, processed in LR6 with my own "CCD look" preset and a few other tweaks...

Very well captured Mike. Looks like you had a great holiday.

PS. I hope ( and so did the groom !! ) that the phone did not make it to the " honeymoon " suite.

Thanks, Pete

If the phone did make it to the honeymoon suite, and assuming the groom's phone did too, we can only hope there was enough time between social media posts for... "other things"

I'm still trying to decide if that's the bride's father or the groom

Thank you kindly, Tony - very much appreciated

I haven't had much practice for panning shots with a non-viewfinder camera, and found it an unusual experience. Mercifully, the car was moving quite slowly

Many thanks, Les... I looked at a few of the watches in that store, Rolex and otherwise. Tempting until you consider that a K-1 with 24-70 and 70-200 costs less

This is a good capture-of-the-moment, the thing that "Q" cameras are particularly adept at.

Should be no phones allowed in such a car.
