Went for a walk around the Melbourne Yarra River last night taking some photos of the usual suspects.

Your thoughts and comments are appreciated...my first photo post

Dazzling series dazman! Some very unique perspectives and love the intense colors. The tunnel shot is very compelling.

Neil - Melbourne..The place to be!

Tom - you must try night photography. The same scenery during day is completely different by night...opens up new ideas and challenges. I'm planning another session at a different city location this weekend...hopefully my flash my arrive by then.

Gary - I'm glad someone else likes the ghosting besides me. Cheers

mikeatnite - thanks. I want to take a few more of the tunnel, but next time from the opposite entrance/exit, which should give a more interesting result.

Good shots. I've been doing night-time shots of Brisbane and it's hard to get enough definition in the dark parts without over-exposing the bright signs.

One thing you might try is geometric correction of the building shots. When you take shots of tall buildings looking up, using normal lenses, the top of the buildings appear to tilt in to the centre. I presume you can fix this in Photoshop. If not, here's a tutorial to do it in the free GIMP:

Thanks Dan. I use photoshop and have been wondering how to correct the distortion...I'll have to post a question for info. Only hope someone posts an answer with as much detail as your tutorial.

I am going to the same spot you were on in an hour.

Fantastic shot. That wheel supposed to be gone 2 months ago. Some kind of plan change. Now it is going to be there for another 6 months.
