A task I thankfully said goodbye to in August 1981 and never looked back.

Nice still life photo though.

Shaving or using a brush?

Shaving, I've had a full beard all this time except for a three week spell after my former hairdresser decided she wanted to see what I looked like clean shaven. After three weeks I went back to a full beard again as I couldn't be bothered with the hassle. I have a skin condition that means the stubble from shaving grows under the skin instead of out of it which results in irritations, zits and boils. Once the hair is free of the skin it is better to just let it grow. I do hit it with a weed-whacker about once every four to six weeks though. When I start filter feeding I know it's time for a trim!

My current wife (I call her that to keep her on her toes) is quite happy with my beard as she's seen pre-beard photos of me and thinks I look much better with the beard. She's only known me with the beard and we celebrate twenty-five years of marriage in about six weeks time.

[ congrats to you and your better half my secret for being married since September 1991 is simple - COMPROMISE ]

love the photo, I do use the old style safety razor and the badger brush ( 2 actually, trading off one for the other ) my beard is shaped not full so every few days back to the razor, soap and brush

Best way to shave
