Cool plant, 4 different exposures.

No PP done yet. I took some shots of this plant at work today and I tried different exposures. #4 is how it really looks, personally I like #1.
Which one do you prefer?

I can see what you like in 1 but I like 2 better. shows the texture and colour better. 1 would be tough to print.

No fun! The results are hidden...

Gary,

I also like the surreal look of the first one, but I am always being accused of liking the darker, more saturated images. (Beware of the dark side Luke)

Is that some kind of houseleek?
I like No.4 the most, but I dislike that you cut off that upper portion of frame, otherwise it would be much better photo.

Maybe I'll try that, just got to work out how to do it. Any pointers, I use Elements 6 for Mac?

House leek is Sempervirum, this was an Aeonium which I think is probably related.
It differs in that it grows on a stalk about two to three feet high. Unfortunately it wass about 18" across so was hard to get in, sorry I cut it off, I was thinking of maybe cropping them anyway.

#1 for me too. It's very nice underexposed like that. It would be interesting to see what it might look like if the light areas were brightened so that the edges of the leaves stood out in contrast to the rest of the image.
