Why do I like this?
Lens: Pentax-A 35-105mm Camera: K-5 Photo Location: Hampshire ISO: 400 Shutter Speed: 1/500s Aperture: F8

Every year I get an invitation to my niece-in-law's daughter's birthday BBQ.
Last year I took a few candid shots along with the usual posed shots and liked this one. I don't know why!
The garden had a pretty severe slope, no straightening required.
The focus seems to not been on the child's face and of course he seems to be drinking through his right nostril.
The odd bubbles floating around provided some bokeh but is barely noticeable.
Looking at the shots again, I still like it. How odd am I?

Priceless...you cannot plan for memories like this...you just have to be quick enough to grab the opportunity as it arises.

Biological children, and in-law/adopted and similar relations, effect a chemical change in the related adult's brain which causes them to appreciate the child in nearly any situation - including in otherwise questionable images.

Unfortunately I had no idea who this child was. He was just there with some other slightly older children at a 4th birthday celebration. He is probably one of my in-law's in-laws or related to one of the other children.

It's a sweet moment, with appropriate yet well-separated background and lovely colours. There's plenty to like
