Macro

New to the forum, so here goes.....
Love the second shot of the spider wrapping the wasp.
Heres some I took recently with K5 100WR Macro & handheld off camera AF201FG with mini difuser.
Constructive critisism more than welcome.

Hi mojoe, it's a very cheap meike, I bought 2nd hand for £30 or so.
It's a sony fit with an adapter to pentax. Works really well for me, with limitations, flash has to be reset after each shot, due to adapter I think. But other than that I like it.

Those shots are amazing. I just got the Pentax 100 macros and I'm definitely having a rough time getting bugs to stay still long enough to get them in focus. Coudln't imagine gettign shots like yours.

Sorry mojoe, it was a viltrox jy 670 flash, not the meike, the meike isn't really a flash at all, just some led ' s.
Just stick with it, it will get easier as you get to know how certain bugs behave, they mostly like to hide, unfortunately.
I found it hard at the start too, I used to see all these super macro shots and thought, I'll try that.
My macro shots have definitely improved, but still a way to go yet.
Cheers
Derek

Got these two shots today using the Pentax 100. Tried a few with the Sigma 17-70 too, but the 100 came out better.

I would expect the pentax to come out better, The 17-70 isnt for that type of shooting.
Nice shots, you should try and get a set of extension tubes as well, they will give you more magnification.
