I've spent a fair amount of time out in the bush, but I've never seen a wild cat, either a Bobcat, Canadian Lynx or a Cougar in the wild. Interesting note about no longer having gray squirrels around. Some of our relatives had a skunk show up in their neighbourhood a few years ago. First time ever, A few days later a Great Horned Owl showed up. Shortly later on they noticed both the Owl and the skunk were gone. Apparently the Great Horned Owl is one of the few predators of the skunk.
Thanks. It was a lucky encounter. I suspect a female had kittens in the forest nearby and this kitten was exploring. The national forest runs for about ten roadless miles north of our property. We also have a flock of wild turkeys that visit so I am hoping Bob returns for Thanksgiving dinner!
