Usually considered more handsome than Marc's bird, although I believe these two are related. The irony is profound: it is the hair on the "Bald" eagle which makes it handsome enough to become the metaphor for America's existence. It is the vulture which is actually bald. Take the feathers offf this bird and what do we have?

That is a crackin' shot. It seems quite dark on my monitor though. (Viewsonic VA1912wb) Too bad it isn't a raw file, I'm not sure how much you could push a jpeg before it hurts.

Laree--thank you for mentioning this comes through dark on your screen. This agrees with other comments I have gotten on some pics. I believe my monitor's brightness is up higher than most. I do have other shots of the eagle, but I'll try to re-submit this after it goes through Lightroom--just because you mentioned it.

Here is the same pic, with a one stop increase in exposure from Lightroom. Is this better? Now it almost looks over exposed on my monitor.

I look forward to it.
Ah, that is MUCH better. You were posting right as I was. The detail in the feathers is good and the eyes are bright. Very nice.
