Deep in the Woods
Lens: Sigma APO DG 70-300mm Macro Camera: K-50 Photo Location: Idaho ISO: 1600 Shutter Speed: 1/200s Aperture: F9

This was taken at a Game Refuge about 3 miles from my house on foggy morning about a week ago. It's a wild rose vine.

Nicely picked out Dewman...ISO1600 also set on my camera for this time of year.

It was quite dim at that time of the morning and I wanted all the shutter speed I could get. Plus, I think the added grain enhances the mood of the image somewhat..

The shot of the dog I recently posted was @1600 and that was out in the open....3 weeks ago. I also use fast shutter speeds to avoid disappointment and can always temper the grain...if needed with software.

It's been my experience that the K-50 will usually handle a higher ISO than most other cameras I've owned. I shot a few today using ISO 6400 but none were keepers. Not because of the high ISO but because of my lousy choice of subject material.

I didn't realize I had owned this lens that long. It's provided me with a lot of good images over time.
