A couple more Milkyway pictures
Lens: Sigma 14mm/ 2.8 ISO: 3200 Shutter Speed: Above 6s Aperture: F2.8

A couple more Astro photos, , a lot of light pollution around, I will have to head even further out into the country next time. These are taken at Wivenhoe Dam about 200km from Brisbane.

I do like the foregrounds here, though. They make for much more interesting compositions than just the sky alone (though you captured it beautifully). Thanks for sharing!

Thanks Adam, I do prefer the Milkyway shots with ground or something in them for perspective, and linking the sky to earth itself. cant wait to get out and do some more with my DFA 15-30, and see what it is capable of.

I think you have a pretty good handle on the night astro. I much prefer images with some foreground to give some context. I don't know how well the Geminids show up down under but tomorrow night is the peak of the Geminids meteor shower.
