up in a Pine forest

Ooooops. Sorry. That's my Sigma 15-30mm. For the rectilinear shots.


Oh, and forgot to say. all camera direct jpegs. in camera B&W conversions .

I've never thought of looking straight up - and just thinking about it makes me dizzy - but conversion to B&W makes these special

Thanks, the huge distortions from the UWA and Fisheye just lend so well to this sort of images. The Black and White is what defines the patterns, in colour there is not much in the pics. The cultivated pines all in rows do give a similar feel when you are walking around.

I used LV when shooting, and had one of my user modes already set to B&W jpeg output, I use that mode quite often.

So, these are cultivated trees - that explains why they aren't as random as I instinctively expect them to be.

Yes, along the Highway North of Brisbane, there are huge Pine forests for the Timber industry. In some of the oldest plantings, there are actually lots of smaller trees that have grown up inbetween the rows. That do fill in and make it a little less regimented,
