Nice capture of a black cat. B&W preserves shading but avoids false colors caused by reflections.

Yes, I shoot a LOT of B&W and Cats just look great in Black and White, especially when they are BLack Cats, in colour you really only get a Black Blob, which, incidently IS exactly what one on my Cats is. .

I have set user modes on all my cameras for doing so, I always use the B&W mode when I intend on finishing with that conversion, I do always shoot RAW+ ( the + being a jpeg already converted to B&W) I even have a B&W user mode set to the 1:1 square crop, thats what I have used here.

The LED Ring light I had on did reflect nicely in his eyes, I'm not so sure he was happy with being woken up by a big bright light shoved in his face, but, he was too tired to move away.
