Pentax K10D, Super Macro Takumar 50/4 at f4, 1/30, ISO 800, Handheld..

the lighting was very insufficent and I tried my best to keep myself steady..This is the sharpest image I got of the patient fly..

C and C welcomed

Sho' fly don't bother me

Looks like the fly is full-on modeling for you.

That is a pretty good shot of that 'blue' fly... especially since you are using a short 50 and handheld at ISO 800... I shoot a lot of flies so I know how tolerent he must have been of you pokin' that lens at him.

I have the M 50 f4 macro, but have not used it a lot since I got my vivi 105... you have inspired me to pull it out of the closet...

Thanks Gus, I'm glad you like it. Yes, the fly was extremely tolerant. I took atleast a dozen of images, thanks to the SR, most of them were shar, but the sharpness was lost once I zoomed in. This was the only image which was tack sharp. I've realised that a tripod is a MUST for natural light macro photography..

Wide-open--1/30th--and handheld--you could have fooled me--fantastic.

Here is a good add for SR--if you had it enabled--you did, did you not?

Hrishi,

Great shot captured from takumar 50mm macro. Is this 1:1 mag?

I am tempted now to use my idle smc takumar 50 f4 macro with 1:2 mag.sitting in my cabinet.

I have captured quite a number of your type in singapore and I think they are identical. I suppose they are the same all over the whole world.

Fine shot. The background is out of focus and everything that needs to be sharp, is. The colours also work nicely.

That is a fantastic shot. I would love a lens capable of doing that kind of work. I really enjoy seeing the macro stuff.

That's amazing hrishi, particularly b/c it's handheld at 1/30! Beautiful photo.

Thanks to all for your encouraging replies.

Jewelltrail,

Yes, the SR was activated. Otherwise it was an impossible shot sans tripod..

Marcus,
Yes I think we have the same lens

Thanks to all again
