Trying to channel my inner Ansel Adams. I don't know if I got all 11 zones in there.

Thank you!

Here is a short video of the effect I was going for... pretty cool if you can pull it off. At 3:20 to 4:20 they specifically talk about the 11 zones.

Very cool effect! I do like this shot quite a bit.

Thank you! I took that shot one or two days ago. I actually did have this idea in mind when I took it. I watched that video above a while back and have been looking for a time when it could be applied.

I've never printed a photo but I think if I did print one this one could turn out pretty good 8x10 or bigger.

Very nice! Since you mention St. Ansel, though, I'd have to say this is a scene made for B&W film.

I have considered buying a film camera and giving that a go, but as is I don't shoot enough with what I have already. I think film would be a really fun thing to do and in all actuality would make me better at my overall game. Having unlimited snaps that don't cost anything lead people to get lazy

On the pic above though that was my first ever attempt to get the 11 zone thing. I watched that video quite a while back and it's been stuck in my head ever since so when the opportunity arose I took it.

You should check out the Fuji rangefinders (aka, "The Texas Leica")--the combination of a sharp lens and a big negative lets people do a lot of great work.

It does have the texture variations needed to make B&W work
