H&M shot
Posted By: ted.sali, 09-01-2008, 01:53 PM

Hi all.
Relatively new to this forum.
I recently got to work with a bunch of professional H&M people (website photos) and thought I would share my fave couple shots here...

1. Model: Admas - took a while to coax this expression our of her. The image is a bit too warm, and for the client images I've actually cooled it a bit to bring the whites down.

2. Model: Natasha - trying some macro-esq stuff similar to what I've seen on Strobist.com. Wanted something with more depth and falloff though, and got pretty good results on this image.

There's more on my flickr page (Flickr: ted.sali's Photostream) Hope you enjoy.

Two awesome pictures. Just love the second one... Which Micro lens did you use and was this the K20? JIMBO

Love the second one, I'm surprised you got any expression at all with those huge fake eyelashes in the first one.
I would say that her skin needs some work on the second one, too much detail in the skin.

I agree with Gary #2 is awsome - a little blemish touch up and that would be a perfect magazine ad.

Bravo.... he shoots he scores!

Number 2 is an absolute show stopper. I disagree with Dave and Gary about removing the texture of her skin. Leave it, as it is perfect. I think with all the magazine photos we are bombarded with, and the power to play God that Photoshop has given us, we forget what natural great skin looks like. Hide a scar, or a pimple, but if the skin looks this great never touch it (unless you want the fake plastic look). I would love to see this shot in poster size or billboard / full wall size in or on a large building. It is very catchy - well done.

Cool stuff! Wonderfully lit!

The first shot is interesting, but the second shot.... Sweet!! Love all the detailed textures!
