Confucius says: According to the law of probability, this will not reliably be a damage free way of parking all the time.

Wow! You'd need a micrometer to measure the distance between car and wall.

Many thanks.
This is not an uncommon sight in Japan.

Very interesting photographs, sir. Being that Tokyo is now considered to be the most expensive city in the world, I cringe to think of the cost of having body work done. (

Well done.

Great image from a city where space is always at a premium.

This actually not true. As a regular visitor to Japan I can tell you, Japan is a lot cheaper than even Melbourne where I live - by a long shot. (And many other cities)

And thanks for the praise.

You are not wrong.
Some 36 million souls call the greater Tokyo metropolitan area home. The below picture is but a small wedge of the whole city. Gives you an indication of the density of the place.

You are correct. Singapore is the most expensive city in the world. Tokyo and Osaka are right behind Singapore. My mistrake. ) Tony

Hi Tony, thanks for commenting.

Not important.
The margin between Tokyo, Osaka and Singapore (or any other top ranking cities) is actually quite minimal, it is neither here or there.

The index of most and least expensive cities is very fluid. Ratings agencies who publish these lists usually compare prices by means of a catalogue of items or activities transferable throughout the world. And the value by which they do their calculations is highly dependable on exchange rates.

People who travel a lot, like myself, have an entirely different view of evaluating cost of living and living standards. This means usually a more realistic perspective of what it costs to live in a given city. Money spent is not always on the list of items the pollsters work with.

As a traveler I find it actually relatively cheap to live well in Tokyo (or Japan as such). I have to exclude 4 or 5 Star hotels, their in-house restaurants and coffee shops from this observation though. As for panel beating dented cars back into shape ? I don't know.

Cheers

Attached two pics: (taken with mobile phone)
One just has to ignore this sort of nonsense. ¥2800.00 = US $27.00, ¥6500.00 = US $60.00 (approx.)
