Final tractor pull Illustration
Posted By: regken, 09-02-2008, 05:03 PM

Let me bore you with one more tractor pull illustration. When I go to an event like this taking photos adds to the enjoyment and I like to select one that to me captures the feeling of the day.

This is the one I like the most and am hoping some of you will make a suggestion or two as to how you think it can be improved with some more PP work.

Thanks,

Hi Ken, a problem I have with the composition is that there is very little of the skid (I think that's what it's called) in the picture. I think that is crucial because it would explain why the tractors front wheel is off the ground.
Apart from that I think cropping a little off the bottom to make the tractor fill more of the frame will improve it.
The tractor looks great and the smaller tractor on the right adds to the composition.

Yeah, I think it really adds some action to the shot.

Hi Ken,
Bored! with a tractor pull?.......bring the offending party to me, I'll set 'em straight on the finer values of life.

I have a mate who had a super modified tractor (ChockaBloc) for many years, it provided alot of fun, kept him broke and his wife still shakes her head in disbelief. He had a couple Chysler V8's hooked up together and when it all came together it was one hell of abeast. Great entertainment.

As for the shot, I can take or leave the treatment. For this type of thing I much prefer to see a series that explains what the event is all about .....so now you have an excuse to post more.

Cheers
Grant

I really like ths second shot. The only thing I might try to improve it would be to clone out the legs under the tractor. I find them distracting. Excellent edit on this image.

Thanks. You are sooo right about the legs. Spent a good hour trying different approaches and my skill level is just to low to get it to work right. No problem on the dirt area but when you get up to the tire it becomes impossible.
