Originally posted by Kerrowdown I try to have everything "right" for a typical situation as I walk along (*), but sometimes I forget, and some candid opportunities aren't "typical". I've been trying to trust TAv mode, bur that will be easier when I get a KP to replace my K-30.
(*) Sometimes my wife will ask me What are you photographing?", and I have to admit I'm just "practicing" - checking settings - in case an opportunity does present itself. That is essentially the truth behind "f/8 and be there" - "Weegee Fellig" would set his camera to f/8, focus for maybe 5 feet {so DOF would include most things of interest to him}, and set shutter speed for current situation, and in most cases he could just aim and shoot.
