Makes me think of The House of the Seven Gables the gothic novel by Nathaniel Hawthorne. Interestingly, the lodger in the house was a Daguerotype photographer.

Fantastic subject, well captured! So many stories within stories, mostly mysteries.

Thanks to all for your kind comments. An update to the original post. The house is now surrounded by a local agribusiness owned pasture. The same group has just logged eighty acres of land beside us to sow more grass in preparation for 500 head of cattle as well as other sites in NW North Carolina and SW Virginia. I’ll try and get over this weekend and update the unchecked under and overgrowth surrounding the property.
