This is one of the very few times I was able to capture the reds EXACTLY as they looked in real life! I've always enjoyed using this lens. It has never disappointed me.

You've framed this up beautifully Dewman...that lens is still doing a great job for you.

Thanks Photomax. I know I sound like a broken record when it comes to praising this old lens, but it's probably the best $15.00 yard sale find I ever made! It's sharp, shoots 1:4 close focus, provides some nice bokeh and renders saturated colors very well. It's a "one lens does it all" type, at least for most of the kind of shooting I do.

Only had a few Vivitar lenses (135mm f2.8 + 300mm f5.6) but recently received a Series 1 70-210mm V2 as part of a bundle purchase...it's in like new condition...cannot wait to try it out when the weather improves...if I get images anywhere near as good as yours I'll be happy.

Some of the Vivitar lenses I own have provided me with some amazing photographs, and the Series 1 lenses are in a class of their own. The lens I used for the photo above was taken with a Tamron, not a Vivitar.
