Silent and Deadly
Lens: smc PENTAX-DA L 55-300mm F4-5.8 ED Camera: PENTAX K-3 Photo Location: Front Yard ISO: 1600 Shutter Speed: 1/160s Aperture: F5.6

Over the last few day I had seen signs of an Owl on the ground. Yesterday after sundown I took the dog out and looked up. Not much light but I was able to snap a few shots.

Out of all raptors and birds, the owl are my favorite. Nicely done.

You might want to keep your cats and small dogs in at night. Great Horned Owls can make short work of them, especially this time of year when they may have newly hatched nestlings. Great photo!

Thank you that is a good point. I always take my little Cocker Spanial out and stay with her because of coyotes but wondered about the owl. Not sure if the owl would try and take on a 26 lb dog or not.
