Bird in Flight . . . . . . . . Finally
Posted By: Sailor, 03-21-2018, 02:34 PM

After years of trying, I finally captured a bird (in this case a gull) in flight this afternoon. More luck than skill, but I can still check off another box in the official list of the requirements for amateur photographers - even if it took until I'm in my dotage!

Nice shot, I'd recommend removing the branch on the bottom right of the photograph. But other than that, it's still a stellar shot. So sharp and so breathtaking.
Thank you very much; I appreciate the nice words. The branch actually is a deck rail upon which the bird was landing; I cropped most of it out, but left a bit since the bird is both eyeing and reaching for it on his approach, and its presence gives some context. I'll go back and fiddle with taking it out completely or leaving more of it in so it's identity is not so ambiguous.

Well done! You got the timing just right IMO. Great capture.
