Yeah. Apparently you didn't get the memo about Pentax and the color red.

Hey Dave - yeah, I guess ignorance is bliss.

Hey thanks, Dave. Your uncle had one of the boss cars of the early '60s.

I'm glad you like it. To be honest, I can't remember whether I photographed the car in its entirety. This shot was taken at a pretty large show, with cars packed in pretty close and thus making it difficult to get good shots of a complete car. Also, the hood and trunk are open on this one, which may have dissuaded me from photographing the whole car. I'll look back in my files; if I have other shots of this Chev, I'll post 'em on this thread.

Turns out I did take a couple of "whole car" pics of the Chev. Because the trunk and hood are opened, the lines of the car are largely lost in these two shots.

Great pix of the '64 Impala SS showing 327 V8 badging, denoting a 327 cube engine. Back then, two 327's were available in the full size Chevy...250 or 300 HP.

I know this well as I was trying to persuade my dad.....fruitlessly as it turned out ..... to order our family '64 Impala wagon with the 300 HP - 327 4 barrel, dual exhaust engine. I really wanted dad to get the 409 cube- 340 HP V8 engine...but I knew that was fantasy world on my part. I was 13/14 years old then.

Our wagon had the 283 V8- 2 barrel...195 HP which wasn't bad and we used it to tow the family RV trailer all the way down to Chicago...where we visited for Easter week in family friends' place in Hammond, Indiana.

I remember on the way down, somewhere in northern Minnesota a guy passed us in a snowstorm...driving a Studebaker Avanti.

Those '64 Chevies were great cars, real workhorses. Again great pix of that '64 Impala SS. Brought back memories.

And Chicago that Easter week was wonderful. Lots of tales and experiences...some deal with GTO's, 409 Impalas...etc... that are indelible in memory.
