Ah! That explains the doughnuts! Still pretty neat. So what are you really planning to shoot with this lens? I hear that they are tricky to shoot with because of the bokeh.

Trying a mirror tele here I think... Sometimes they are making for the most strange rendering of OOF highlights. What are you going to use it for?
(My longest lens is an 85mm...)

I'll try to use it for landscapes as well as moon shots, replacing the K 500mm on longer trips. I suppose the added 1.5x zoom makes it a bit more flexible than a prime, and I also get AF focus confirmation

Mirror lenses don't have bokey--it's more like boyuk!

But they are incredible fun.

Like a Lensbaby or a fisheye add-on or a holga on a k-mount. Everybody needs at least one toy in the bag.

Well stated! I can't complain too much about the sharpness, but manual focusing with this lens is very tough.
