Colourful Birds In the Snow
Lens: DA 55-300 PLM Camera: KP Photo Location: Liberty, Maine ISO: 800 Shutter Speed: 1/90s Aperture: F7.1

I finally got a few shots of the shy Cardinal and Blue Jays that have always flown off whenever I got close with my camera since they seemed to be pretty intent on digging the food out from under our snow today.

I know what you mean. In my yard the Dark-eyed Juncos will stick around but all the others fly off if I try to get close. But you did get a few shots in some adverse weather conditions. Nice job.

Thanks for the kind words. I am just sick and tired of all this snow. We got a few inches today and are expecting more next week after this melts. All the ladybugs I have stuck in the house are dying since I can't let them out as there is nothing growing outside yet.

These are terrific photos - the birds certainly bring color to the snowy background.

Are these taken through glass, or were you braving the weather also??
