Flamingos
Lens: Pentax-D FA 150-450 mm Camera: Pentax K-1 Photo Location: Santa Barbara Zoo

A day at the zoo. Flamingos are very colorful and photogenic subjects and are fun to photograph in the late afternoon light. Their beady eyes always let you know you're being watched.

Jerry, these are really something. Wildlife photos with more than a tinge of mystery.

Love that first shot especially. I go to our local zoo on the free day for residents but should try to go in the late afternoon next time.

Beautiful shots & lighting. There's an intimacy about them. Sexy knees on that bird doncha think?

Thanks joip! As for those knees, thin is good, but there's such a thing as being too thin

Nicely done photos, my favourites are the first and second. Shadowing and composition are exceptional. The gaze of the 'beady little' eye is almost mesmerizing, in these two photos.

Really like the colour, but I bet they would also be just as appealing in B & W.
