Proud Bird
Lens: Pentax-D FA 150-450 mm Camera: Pentax K-1 Photo Location: Santa Barbara ISO: 800 Shutter Speed: 1/4000s Aperture: F6.7

I've forgotten what this bird was called, but despite being a captive, it seemed to still have its dignity.

Looks like some kind of Vulture but then again, with Birds I am often wrong.

I'd say it's Ruppell's Griffon Vulture - a long way from home in Northern Africa. Nice shot.

Nice photo - definitively a vulture, reminds me of a joke:
Two vultures were eating a road-kill clown (don't ask...), one says to the other "Does this taste a bit funny?".

I'll show myself out, and carrion with my day

First thought that comes to my mind...is that I'm glad it's a picture and I'm not slipping in and out of consciousness...lying down...looking up at this bird.

My second thought is this is a well done photo...the bokeh, lighting and framing is excellent.

Thanks lesmore, it's a pretty frightening looking bird for sure!

That looks alot like a young California Condor or some other related condors.. Very cool pic!
