I think these have that true macro character for sure. They are beautiful. A little bit of the expected macro sharpness I still miss. There is always a chance to boos the colours too, Well done for first tries!

Thanks for the links, they are great! I guess I got little fooled by the down sampling and the very thin DOF plane!

Yea, the blue was the only ones that was done with a tripod. the other 2 was doing handheld.

I was going to say the Blue is the best shot by far and there seemed to be some camera shake in the first 2 (which i think were both better subjects than the blue one). Then I noticed you used a tripod in taking that shot. it made all the difference and is usually a required tool when shooting macros.

Very good first try.

Yea, the light wasent too good, so I couldent use faster than 100ish shutterspeed.
But I had to bad time at the trip when I took this pictures to do it proparly on the red and black :\ well, next time I I'l know better ( I hope).

The biggest issue is that you often have a hard time keeping the camera in exactly the right place after the focus is locked. Any movement in any direction will cause a softer image. The tripod eliminates that almost every time. Hope that helps.

Sorry you had a rough trip.
