The the upset castle is so much more dramatic in the top frame!
What level of competition is this? The form of all three combatants looks pretty professional, and the sight screen suggests a reasonably swanky venue.
County, or Lancashire League or similar?

It's surprising how an image can change in just 1/6 of a second.
Its Ribblesdale League, the little brother of the Lancashire league, at Salesbury which is one of Lancashire's most attractive grounds.

Great photo! I tried shooting cricket back in my film days, but never gt anything like this. It is hard work, this. You have to keep up your concentration for hours while peering through a long lens, otherwise you miss the shot.

Thanks, it's easier with digital because of the ability to do 7fps and take hundreds of photos but as I'm not that keen on PPing hundreds i watch which batsmen is struggling against a bowler and concentrate on him. As I principally go to cricket to watch and not shoot I have learnt to just do the concentrating in small bursts

Excellent images!

This is where post processing can make a huge difference. To my eye, the first frame captures the bowler and striker at their best and most dynamic but the second frame has the better capture of the wicket keeper. Cut. Paste.

Oh.. Catch was directed at photographer , not the game. I was thinking of photographer assigned to cover Test match(5-day match) where player can get out on any ball. Not an easy assignment.
