You're not. These have only been recently built and can be had for the miserly sum of around 25k. A little steep I'd say given the local economy. Locally they're referred to as 'sheddies', so you're correct on that score too!

I have to ask...what are they for? Just how big are they? Appear way too small to stay in...

Somewhere to shelter if it rains, make tea, have barbecues beside ... kind of a UK tradition.
Hopeman, a village a few miles down the coast is used a bit more actively, and on those rare warm sunny days can be quite a social point
